Report: Chelsea and Barcelona reach a signing agreement for Aubameyang.

On the final day of the transfer window on Thursday, Sky Sports claimed that Chelsea and Barcelona had struck a deal for Chelsea to sign forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with defender Marcos Alonso moving in the opposite direction.

According to the source, the Premier League team would likely give Alonso as well as pay somewhere around 10 million pounds ($11.56 million) to recruit Aubameyang, who left Arsenal for Barcelona in February

The Gabonese striker was surplus to requirements when the Catalan club bought Poland forward Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich and had to unload players to meet LaLiga's financial standards

If Aubameyang's deal to Chelsea is approved, he would rejoin Chelsea's London rivals Arsenal in the English Premier League after seven months

Additionally, he would re-join forces with Thomas Tuchel, with whom he had previously shared an organisation at Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund

The 33-year-old had a falling out with Arsenal and their manager Mikel Arteta last season for disciplinary concerns despite being the Premier League's joint top scorer in 2018–19 and leading Arsenal to the FA Cup in the following season

Following an armed robbery at his house, Aubameyang, who still has three years left on his Barcelona contract, sustained a jaw injury and will be out of play for three weeks
