What is Footvolley? How to Play Footvolley?

Footvolley: Footvolley is a sport that combines parts of beach volleyball and soccer. Footvolley was invented in Brazil in 1965 by Octavio de Moraes. Footvolley combines beach volleyball-inspired field regulations with association football-inspired ball-touch rules. Footvolley is similar to beach volleyball, except that participants are not permitted to use their hands, and a football replaces the volleyball.

Footvolley International Rules

Points are awarded if the ball hits on the ground in the opponent’s court, if the opponent commits a mistake, or if the ball is not returned over the net. The rally point system (new volleyball rules) is used for scoring. Match scoring is usually at the discretion of the event organizer. Matches are often one set to 18 points or best of three sets to 15 points (with the third set to 11 points). The court is 29.5 x 59 feet (vintage beach volleyball). The net’s height changes depending on the tournament. For the men’s tournament, the Official International Rule for net height set is 2.2 meters (7 ft 3 in). The women’s tournament’s net height should be 2 meters (6 ft 7 in).
