Why Do Batsmen In Cricket Change Their Bats As The Game Progress?

The batsmen in cricket only change their bats as the game progresses for many reasons, such as:

Condition of the Ball:

When the cricket ball becomes older and softer the batsmen find some difficulties in timing their shots effectively. In this situation, they might have to switch to a different bat that they feel will help them strike the ball well.

Condition of Pitch:

Cricketers also switch their bats by looking at the condition of the pitch. If the pitch becomes slower or it gives bounces as the game progresses so at that time the batsmen change bats which helps them adjust to the conditions.

Comfort and Feel:

Batsmen also wear their cricket bats while the match progresses because they feel uncomfortable with the one they are using. This can happen because of the grip, weight, or balance of that bat. To get a proper comfort players change their bats.

Equipment Maintenance:

Bats can get damaged at the time of the course of a match mostly when the batsman is facing the fast bowlers or hitting the ball with full force. In these cases changing the bat is necessary for safety and performance reasons.
