The Test cricket players put an Elastoplast on their helmets for several reasons, but mainly because of sponsorships reasons a player is sponsored by Adidas, but they generally prefer the feel of Masuri helmets. Then the players tape over the Masuri sign.

The player is sponsored by Coca-Cola and has been seen playing in a domestic competition sponsored by Pepsi which mostly stipulates no Coca-Cola sponsorship. Then the player tapes the Coke logo.

The player and the team’s sponsor clash or the teams and the competitors, either way, tape over the offending logo.

There are some helmet sponsorship rules. There is a historical limit on how much sponsored advertising players can show off at one time. If there is a non-branded helmet unavailable the quickest fix is to covet the helmet logos with a tape. Players cover the logos on the helmet with an elastoplast tape.
