In the United States of America, people do not pay much attention to cricket games. These people are mostly fond of American football, soccer, baseball, basketball, and some other sports. The most famous sport there is football.

The craze of this sport is not as great in America as it is in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and some other countries. That is why the authorities of the American cricket team do not give much attention to their sport. Even if they do not participate in much bigger tournaments.

The United States of America has not been officially a participant in international cricket yet. There are some major reasons behind it:

Limited Infrastructure:

Cricket needs a proper infrastructure like grounds, training facilities, and academies. This sport is played at many levels in the USA, but unfortunately, the country lacks a widespread infrastructure that can support a competitive international team.

Complexity and Length of the Game:

The matches of cricket can be longer than many other sports played in America which are mostly fast-paced. The format and duration of matches like Test matches can be seen as the biggest barrier to attracting a wider audience.

Competition with Other Sports:

The landscape of sports in the United States of America is dominated by football, basketball, and soccer. Generally, these sports have a very strong fan base and established leagues.

Lack of Historical Tradition:

America is not like other countries that have great history in cricket. America does not have a great story with this sport. This sport is deeply rooted in many countries like India, Pakistan, and more. This makes it challenging to build a strong cricketing culture.
