Abid Ali in his Childhood {Abid Ali Biography}
Ali was born in the 2nd largest city after Karachi, Lahore of Punjab Province, Pakistan in a Muslim family. With a humble family background, he was manifested by the sport and practiced the sport from a mere age in his village but never decided to pursue the sport as a full-fledged career.
At the age of 14, he decided to train the sport professionally and enrolled his name at a local cricket academy. Pursuing professional training for the sport, he also dedicatedly trained under his school’s sports coach. He represented his Central Model School located in Lahore in many inter-school tournaments.
On his father’s recommendation, he shifted to Shafqat Rana Cricket Club to train under highly skilled coaches. Training under a former cricketer Shafqat Rana, Abid mastered his batting skill and started being a part of various cricket tournaments. After 5 years of struggles in the academy, he was fortunate in getting selected in the U-19 cricket squad of Pakistan for the 2000 U-19 World Cup.

- He made his first astonishing appearance at the 2000 U-19 Cricket World Cup.
- His international appearance helped him in gaining national recognition.
- In 2007, he was fortunate to play at the 2007-2008 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy representing Lahore Ravi.
- Almost 1 year later, he made his return in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy representing Islamabad. He came under the limelight after scoring 231 runs being not out in a match against National Bank. In the tournament, he was the leading run-scorer from the Islamabad side with 541 runs.
- At the 2017-2018 Regional One Day Cup, he played for Islamabad. In a match against the team of Peshawar, he scored 209 being not out and becoming the highest run-scorer in a List-A match.
- In 2018, he played for the squad of Federal Areas in the Pakistan Cup.
- In the consecutive season, he made his appearance for the squads of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh at the 2019 Pakistan Cup and 2019-2020 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
- Finally, in 2019, he was selected in the national squad and made his first ODI debut for Pakistan against Australia. In his debut match, he eclipsed the mark of 100 runs becoming the third Pakistani cricketer to score a century in his debut ODI match.
- Later in 2019, he was selected in Pakistan’s squad for the tour test tour against Australia but was unfortunate to make gain any recognition.
- In the test series against Sri Lanka, he was adjudged as the Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
- He scored his first double-century against Zimbabwe in the test series against them in 2021.
- Abid played for the squad of Central Punjab at the 2020-2021 National T20 Cup.
