Alexander Emelianenko Biography: Aleksander was born on August 2, 1981, in Stary Oskol, Soviet Union, to Olga Feodorovna Emelianenko, a teacher, and Vladimir Alexanderovich Emelianenko, a welder. He is the third child in his family, with an elder sister, Marina, and two older brothers, Fedor and Ivan.

Since his parents worked during the day, Aleksander spent much of his youth on the unsafe streets. During his early teenage years, while his parents worked, he got involved in street battles and riots between neighborhoods. Since his family needed sufficient funds, his mother prepared only one weekly meal for Emelianenko and his siblings, and he had to share clothing with his elder brother.

Aleksander Emelianenko Personal Life

In 2003, Alexander moved from his hometown of Stary Oskol to Saint Petersburg, where he met his future wife. Emelianenko routinely trained with his brother Fedor before leaving Stary Oskol. On September 4, 2004, Aleksander married his spouse. The couple has two kids, one born in 2007 and one from Olga’s previous relationship.

Alexander Emelianenko, one of the youngest competitors to debut in Pride Fighting Championships at age 22, made his professional mixed martial arts debut against Brazilian Assuerio Silva on 5 October 2003 at the event Pride Bushido 1, defeating Silva by split decision.

Emelianenko fought Brazilian fighter Angelo Araujo on 31 December 2003 at the Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2003 Inoki Festival. He defeated Araujo by TKO after cutting him above the right eye, & the doctor stopped the fight. On 23 May 2004, at PRIDE Bushido 3, Emelianenko defeated Australian Matt Foki with a rear naked choke in the opening round.

At Pride Final Conflict 2004 on 15 August 2004, one of the top heavyweight contenders in MMA at the time, Mirko Cro Cop, defeated Emelianenko in the first round via knockout (head kick) in his fourth professional bout.

On 9 October 2004, Emelianenko rebounded with a decision victory over Brazilian Carlos “Carlo” Barreto at M-1 MFC Middleweight GP, marking his first fight outside Japan. Returning to Pride, on 31 October 2004, at Pride 28, Emelianenko knocked out English fighter James Thompson in eleven seconds, the shortest bout of his career.

Emelianenko defeated Brazilian Ricardo Morais by knockout (punches) in fifteen seconds on 3 April 2005 at Pride Bushido 6 in his second-shortest fight. Emelianenko noted that he fractured a hand while hitting Morais. In his third consecutive KO victory, Emelianenko knocked out Dutch kickboxer Rene Rooze in 28 seconds at the Netherlands’ Bushido Rotterdam Rumble on 9 October 2005. Rooze became unconscious for several minutes.

Emelianenko faced Márcio Santos as an alternative for Vyacheslav Vasilevsky as the AMC Fight Nights 106 event headliner. He was defeated in the first round with an arm-triangle choke. On the 16th of December, 2022, Svyatoslav Kovalenko, a Russian video blogger, fought Emelianenko. The fight occurred in the “Ren TV Fight Club” competition. Emelianenko was defeated in a split decision.

Emelianenko made his professional boxing debut on October 3, 2009, against Khizir Pliev, an army boxing winner from Ingushetia who was also making his professional debut. The fight concluded in a draw. Aleksander Emelianenko was knocked out in 13 sec by Viacheslav Datsik on September 25, 2022, in Moscow during a Hardcore Boxing event.
