Antoine Griezmann debunks transfer rumours on reaching 100 appearances for FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann recently reached the 100 appearances milestone for the Catalan club and he took this opportunity to announce that he wants to play another 100 games and more for Barca. He also took pains to debunk the recent rumours of his possible move to Premier League in the same interview.

Griezmann gave an extraordinary performance in FC Barcelona’s first match of La Liga 2021-22 against Real Sociedad which the Blaugrana won decisively by a margin of 4-2. It was in the same match that Griezmann reached the century mark.

On the completion of his 100 matches at the club, FC Barcelona has presented the Frenchman with a special jersey having the number 100 engraved on it.

FC Barcelona have already put Antoine Griezmann on the market

Although Antoine Griezmann seems happy at FC Barcelona and he insists upon staying, president Joan Laporta made it public last month that given the financial situation of the club, they are open to sell the Frenchman if they receive a good offer.

“It’s not easy for a club to come in with an offer for a player at his level,” Barca president Joan Laporta said last month. “But the transfer window is just getting started and there’s a market for Griezmann.

“If things start moving, we’re open to all proposals because we’re in a delicate moment financially and we have to balance the books to comply with the league’s financial fair play rules.”
