It is reported that Aston Villa submitted a bid of about £25m but the German club rejected the offer.

According to BirminghamLive, Aston Villa are eager to find a breakthrough with the players’ stepfather and advisor, Craig Butler, admitting talks are still ongoing with Leverkusen.

Aston Villa have already made a huge signing this summer by bringing in Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City in a club record transfer. In addition to the Argentine, manager Dean Smith also has Bertrand Traore, Jack Grealish, Anwar El Ghazi and Trezeguet as options in the wide areas already at his disposal. However, it has been reported that the Midlands outfit are open to offers for the El Ghazi and Trezeguet, which would open up a place for another player.

According to the Football Insider, Aston Villa will let the Dutch winger Anwar El Ghazi leave for €15m if Roma continues their interest in the winger.

However, According to Sky Deutschland, Leverkusen are in no mood to sell him for a figure less than his market value at the moment. He is rated at €39m and Leverkusen do not want to sell him at a knockdown price in the current transfer window. It remains to be seen whether any club want to pay that kind of fee for the Jamaican winger in the current financial market which has been badly affected by the pandemic.
