Manchester United will be looking to bring in Saul Niguez if Paul Pogba decides to quit his job at Old Trafford. The French World Cup winner has refused to sign a new and improved contract amid strong interest from Paris Saint Germain. Pogba has a year left in his contract at United. If Pogba tells United he wants to leave, Solskjaer will be forced to sign a replacement midfielder before the new season starts on August 14.
Saul Niguez to replace Pogba at Man United?
According to Daily Star, Manchester United will open talks over Saul Niguez if Paul Pogba leaves. The Frenchman’s future at United is the subject of speculation. Daily Star also reports that Saul Niguez deal can cost United up to £45m.
Paul Pogba is into the final year of his current deal with his agent Mino Raiola holding talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible move. The 28-year-old is arguably in his peak form for both club and county and had a wonderful Euro 2020 campaign on a personal level. So far Pogba has not shown any signs of renewing his current deal at United. PSG are the only club that have shown the most interest in the French international.
Atletico have financial problems and are willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old, who is one of the highest earners at the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium. United have been long time admirers of the Spaniard and considers him as one of the prime targets.
Saul Niguez is also a cheaper alternative in comparison to West Ham’s Declan Rice. Pogba is due to return to pre-season training this week, with his immediate future at United still unclear.
United are also linked to Rennes starlet Eduardo Camavinga. The Red Devils are preparing a move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde in addition to Raphael Varane.

According to Marca, United are seen as his likely destination, Liverpool have been in contact with the 26-year-old’s representatives over a move to Anfield. The Spanish newspaper goes on to state that a bid in the region of £43million should be enough to convince Atletico to sell.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also in contacts to sign the Spaniard after Gini Wijnaldum left Paris Saint German for free earlier this summer. According to a report, The Reds are set to make a new bid to sign the 26-year-old this summer. The report goes on to say that Liverpool will bid £41m for Saul Niguez, with Atletico expected to accept the offer.
The Reds are being linked with a host of players tipped to replace Gini Wijnaldum, with Saul being one that dominates most of the headlines. Liverpool’s transfer business has slowed since the arrival of Ibrahima Konate. Jurgen Klopp is still attempting to boost his squad. Klopp is also looking to boost his attacking options after a decline in form in front of goal last season.
