BCCI slams Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri after Victory in 4th Test for this Act of Irresponsibility

BCCI (Board of Control for cricket in India) has lashed out at Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Head Coach Ravi Shastri after an act of ‘irresponsibility’ that was committed by them during the ongoing test series between India and England.

Team India registered a sensational victory at Oval in the fourth test against England and went 2-1 up in the series. However, the celebrations were marred by a controversy that required the interference of the BCCI.

It is a known fact Indian head coach Ravi Shastri tested positive for COVID-19 before the commencement of Day 4 of the test series and 3 other members of the coaching staff had to be quarantined too, due to security reasons.

It is now being reported that Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli had gone to attend a massive book launch event in England by violating the COVID-19 protocols, putting the health and safety of the entire Indian contingent at stake. The incident has reportedly infuriated the BCCI.

What has been said to Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri

A TOI source has just revealed the news. A source close to the BCCI told TOI, “The board will probe the matter. This incident has left the board embarrassed.”

“The coach and the captain will be asked to explain the circumstances after the fourth Test at Oval. The team’s administrative manager Girish Dongre’s role is also under the scanner.”

“The BCCI is in touch with the ECB and trying to ensure the series is completed without any further incidents. As of now, everyone is hoping that Shastri recovers soon. There is a selection meeting for the T20 World Cup on Wednesday. Maybe the matter will be raised there,” the official added.

In a contradictory report however, it is being said that the entire Indian team attended the Book launch ceremony and some fans are thus questioning as though why Virat Kohli is the only one facing the criticism.
