Before naming a new manager this summer, Tottenham will hire a new director of football

According to our sources, before naming a new manager this summer, Tottenham will hire a new director of football.

The position is open at the North London club since Fabio Paratici resigned after being banned for 30 months for his part in the financial scandal at Juventus.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is keen to fill the position of director before the conclusion of the current campaign. The team has begun considering potential candidates.

On Friday (12 May), Football Insider reported that Tottenham has begun interviewing various applicants for the position of Director of Football.

Spurs have reportedly conducted conversations with Brentford’s technical director, Lee Dykes, but those talks have stalled, and the club is now looking elsewhere to fill the void.

Dykes has been in charge of player recruitment at Brentford for the last three seasons. He has been instrumental in the signing of players like Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney.

Johannes Spors, the Global Director of 777 Sports, is another man that Tottenham is interested in. He now works with Genoa, Standard Liege, Red Star FC, Vasco da Gama, and Melbourne. To be considered for the position of sporting director at Tottenham, Spors had to guarantee that he would work only for the Premier League team.

Levy wants the club to hire a new manager this summer, therefore, he’s eager to have a new director in place as quickly as possible. Spurs have not yet hired a replacement for Antonio Conte, who was fired in March.
