The Turkish player had been in a tremendous form with AC Milan last season

Arsenal were linked with the Turkish international in the past with Juventus, Galatasaray, Manchester United – the forerunners to sign the midfielder. But Inter sealed the deal away from them.

The sporting Directors at Milan were not happy about Hakan Calhanoglu’s attitude, as the Turkey international hoped to show off at Euro 2020 to attract interest from top clubs in Europe.

According to an Italian newspaper, he only managed to irritate the directors at Milanello, who were not expecting a very short answer to the contract offer worth €4m.The Rossoneri’s presented an offer in January to renew the player’s contract worth 4M euros per season but Calhanglu wasted most of the season negotiating the offer.
Calhanoglu joined AC Milan in July 2017 for a four-year deal with the club before which he played four seasons in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen & Hamburg. His transfer fee was 20M euros.

Calhanoglu had a sensational season with the Rossoneri’s finding the net nine times and also setting up twelve goals for the club across all competitions. His deliberate efforts earned Milan a ticket to play the Champions league football next season after seven years. Milan finished 2nd in the league with 79 points this season.

Calhanoglu’s exit is a huge blow to the Rossoneri’s after Gianluigi Donnarumma, another Milan player who is departing this season. The 22-year-old has already made up his mind to join PSG after he refused to extend his contract at San Siro.
