Jack Grealish’s move to Manchester United will be ‘Difficult’, says Rio Ferdinand

Ever since the rumours of Manchester United making a move for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish have grown stronger, English football pundits and Manchester United fans have had mixed feelings. Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand feels that it is difficult for another playmaker to fit into the squad. Their neighbours Manchester City have also been keen on signing the midfielder.

The Aston villa captain has scored 7 goals and 12 assists across all competitions this season despite his injuries. The 25-year-old has been the main man for Aston Villa’s success over the years. The Aston villa star is currently priced at 80M euros and has some years left in his contract. But it won’t be surprising to see the player leaving Villa Park this summer.

Jack Grealish is currently away with England at Euro 2020, so any potential deal would have to wait. The 25-year-old’s fine form earned him a place in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad and has also received the attention of top Premier League clubs – including Manchester United and Manchester City.

Jack Grealish has been heavily linked to Manchester United since last season

In an interview with Harry Pinero on the UMM YouTube channel Rio Ferdinand said that Grealish won’t be compatible in Manchester United’s squad and he thinks that Bruno Fernandes is not the problem.

“I don’t think Bruno Fernandes is the problem, you’ve got Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba that are both playing on the left and that’s where Jack plays”.

“His best position is on the left, and his next best position is No.10. They’re the positions where our most influential players are right now. So, I think it’s difficult to see him at Manchester United right now”.

“If he leaves Villa, I just don’t think it’ll be to Manchester United, unless they ship one or two of those boys away. I see it as a difficult deal to be done for Man United.”

Rio Ferdinand adds further, “ship one or two boys away to make space for the Aston Villa captain”.

Rio Ferdinand says that Rashford and Pogba might be a problem if Jack Grealish’s move is completed.

“If I could see Bellingham perform on this stage, if I could see Foden perform on this stage, if I could see Grealish perform on this stage, if I could see Sancho. Mason Mount is another one. Those are the players that are exciting to me”.

“Give them a platform, give them the freedom to go and perform like they did for their clubs, and let them set this tournament on fire”.

“Some of the best memories within our recent history of England have been Wayne Rooney, 18 years old in the Euros, Michael Owen at a World Cup in France at 18 years old”.

“Unleashing these talents to go and create havoc and surprise many people around Europe has been amazing.”

Wayne Rooney predicts Jack Grealish will start for England against Croatia after Croatia snub

Another Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, wants Gareth Southgate to start Jack Grealish on Friday as England continue their Euros campaign against Scotland at Wembley.

“I would have liked to have seen Jack Grealish,” Rooney told Sky Sports after England beat Croatia.

“He’s a player who is going to grow during this competition and he will be an important player for England. I can see a couple of changes for the Scotland game”.

“I think Jack Grealish will probably come in and start. But I think they will be a bit more relaxed on Friday, whereas if they didn’t win then it would have been more anxious”.

Jack Grealish was an unused substitute for England during their opening Euro 2020 fixture – a 1-0 victory over Croatia, who they lost to in the 2018 World Cup semi-finals.
