According to reports, Serie A side Juventus have identified three potential replacements for their star striker Cristiano Ronaldo if he leaves the club this summer. The portuguese talisman has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 side PSG. The Parisians have had a star studded summer transfer window so far and adding Cristiano Ronaldo to their already great team can make them serious contenders for the UEFA Champions League this season.
Juventus had an extremely poor performance last season both in the Champions League and in their league. They lost their 9 years winning streak in Serie A to Inter Milan this season and got knocked out of the Champions league in the Round-of-16 by a comparatively weaker FC Porto.

It is a known fact that Cristiano Ronaldo hates losing and the poor situation that Juventus are in might see him looking for a move to a different league. However, the portuguse talisman’s wages are huge and not many teams can afford him. His former club Manchester United and Ligue 1 side PSG are a few elite clubs who can afford Cristiano Ronaldo’s wages. As Manchester United do not seem interested in bringing back their former player, PSG looks like the only viable option for Cristiano Ronaldo.
PSG have built up a very strong project in recent years. Although they are yet to win their maiden Champions League trophy, Neymar and Co. have come close. They were the runners up of UEFA Champions League in the 2019/20 season and last season, they got knocked out in the Semi-finals against Manchester City. Moreover PSG have had the best summer transfer window this year. They bagged in Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Gini Wijnaldum as free transfers and Achraf Hakimi for €70 Million from Inter Milan. They are the hot prospects for European championship this season and might very well lure Cristiano Ronaldo with their project.
Juventus identify three replacements for Cristiano Ronaldo
However, losing out on Cristiano Ronaldo will be a big blow to Juventus and they have thus started looking out for his potential replacements. The 3 names that have come out as the most viable options are Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and PSG’s Moise Keane and Mauro Icardi.
Brazillian striker Gabriel Jesus has not been able to cement his place in the playing XI of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. At Juventus, he will be given a pivotal role which might help in his growth. Juventus defender Danilo recently said in an interview that he sees his fellow Brazil teammate Gabriel Jesus joining Turin in the near future.
PSG might opt for a swap-deal plus cash for Cristiano Ronaldo and in that case, former Inter player Mauro Icardi and Moise Keane might be two good options. Moise Keane might return to Turin to reunite with his former boss Max Allegri.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo’s move is a complicated one and it will be difficult for PSG to pull-off in thus transfer window.
