Hamilton identifies himself as African. At age two, his parents divorced, and he resided with his mother and half-sisters until he was twelve. Then, Hamilton moved in with his father, stepmother, and half-brother Nicolas. At age five, Hamilton took up karate for self-defense. He was victimized in school.
