Lewis Hamilton Biography: Carl Lewis Davidson Hamilton was born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England, on January 7, 1985. His mother is Caucasian, Carmen, and his father is African, Anthony. Hamilton identifies himself as African. At age two, his parents divorced, and he resided with his mother and half-sisters until he was twelve. Then, Hamilton moved in with his father, stepmother, and half-brother Nicolas. At age five, Hamilton took up karate for self-defense. He was victimized in school. His father purchased him a radio-controlled car when he was six.
His father gave him a go-kart for Christmas when he was six years old.
