According to sources, Manchester City will compete with other clubs this summer to acquire Declan Rice. The 24-year-old West Ham star is set to depart the club this summer in search of a new team that would satisfy his desire to play in the Champions League.
Having identified Rice as a priority target, City are eager to compete for his signing as they aim to bolster their midfield. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool are among the many European clubs keeping tabs on Rice’s position this summer.
On May 9, sources told us that Arsenal must offer at least £100 million to get Rice. If Ilkay Gundogan leaves the Etihad Stadium this summer, City is reportedly willing to pay much to secure Rice’s signing.

City’s club captain is set to leave City on a free transfer this summer unless a new contract is negotiated. Sources told this publication that Guardiola is ‘adamant’ that Gundogan remains at City through the summer, and negotiations between the two sides are underway.
If Guardiola and City are unable to reach an agreement on a new deal, they will shift their focus to signing Rice. The City manager sees Rice as a natural leader and thinks he can fill the hole Gundogan leaves in the locker room.
