According to sources, Manchester United is keeping an eye on Everton star Amadou Onana in anticipation of a possible summer transfer. Erik ten Hag, manager of the Red Devils, has taken notice of the 21-year-old midfielder after seeing him play for the Toffees this season.
The Dutchman reportedly wants to strengthen his midfield next season by adding more muscle and toughness to match the technical skills of Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen. Ten Hag sees qualities in Onana that match his own, so he has granted the United board his approval to sign the Belgium international.

Despite being under contract with Everton until 2027, Onana is ready to fight for a transfer this summer, particularly in the event of relegation to the Championship. Since his £33 million transfer from Lille, the youthful midfielder has been a mainstay for the Merseyside club.
He has played 2,471 minutes at the first-team level this season over 32 appearances (across all competitions), contributing to one goal and two assists.
Since taking over for Frank Lampard as Everton’s head coach, Sean Dyche has given Onana a major role and praised his athleticism in the middle of the pitch. “I think with his physicality, driving into the box is a really good weapon. He’s a powerful boy, he will head it and he’s got an eye for it,” said Dyche.
