Manchester United Transfer News: Alex Telles, currently on loan from Manchester United to Al-Nassr, may permanently join Cristiano Ronaldo there this summer.
The Brazilian left-back reportedly has offers from both Galatasaray and Al-Nassr, but would rather play for the latter owing to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, as reported by Spanish source AS (h/t TalkSPORT). The 30-year-old played for Sevilla last year on loan.
Telles has been a mainstay in Jose Mendilibar’s starting lineup this season, appearing 32 times in all competitions. However, it appears that the Sevilla club has no plans to exercise the option to sign him permanently at the end of the current campaign.
Telles was forced to quit Old Trafford last summer when Erik Ten Hag signed Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord. The Dutch left-back is one of Ten Hag’s two first-team choices for the position, the other being Luke Shaw.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo departed Manchester United on amicable terms in November and signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Al-Nassr in the new year. He and Telles played together 21 times for United and scored twice.
The left-back, formerly of Inter Milan, has a 2024 expiration date on his contract at Old Trafford. But he probably won’t be able to force his way up Ten Hag’s hierarchy anytime soon. Therefore, he would benefit from more playing time with a transfer, especially to Al-Nassr.

Telles would want to start for the Riyadh-based club instead of Cote d’Ivoire international Ghislain Konan. While in Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo experienced both success and failure.
In 15 games in all competitions for his new club, the Portugal legend has assisted on 12 goals and scored twice. However, there is a chance that his team will finish the year trophyless.
The team led by the ex-Manchester United striker lost in the semifinals of both the King’s Cup and the Saudi Super Cup during his tenure as captain. In neither contest did he contribute to the scoreboard in any way.
As a result, Al-Nassr’s standing in the Saudi Pro League has declined. They’re in second place in the league, three points behind Al-Ittihad with a game in hand and 56 points from 25 matches.
They have only won four of a possible nine points in their past three league games, and on March 9 they fell 1-0 against Al-Ittihad. There have been rumours that Ronaldo is dissatisfied in Saudi Arabia and that he wants to return to either Sporting CP or Real Madrid.
It has been speculated, however, that if Ronaldo does return to the Santiago Bernabeu, it will not be in a playing capacity.
