Olivier Giroud: Paulo Maldini confirms Chelsea striker’s move to AC Milan – Big Updates about future signings

AC Milan’s technical director Paulo Maldini has confirmed that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is on the verge of signing for the Rossoneri and if everything goes as planned, the Frenchman can join them within the next two days.

A €2 Million deal has been reportedly agreed upon by the two clubs for Olivier Giroud and the paperworks has been done. Only the medical remains, which the French striker will undergo once he arrives at San Siro.

What Maldini has said about Olivier Giroud’s signing

“Yes, [Olivier Giroud] should arrive tomorrow,” Paolo Maldini told DAZN.

“Olivier is a champion and a fresh winner of the Champions League.

“He is a very reliable player, what we were looking for since we need experienced players like him. We are the youngest team in Serie A.”

The former Italian international also revealed that AC Milan are pondering the chances of signing another striker this summer. As they have now signed an experienced targetman in Olivier Giroud, the Rossoneri are in search of a young striker.

“A young striker could also arrive,” he said..

“The idea is to lay the foundations for the team and then perhaps wait for the final phase of the transfer market.”

Maldini also talked about the future of AC Milan’s 24 year old midfielder Franck Kessie. The Ivorian has entered his last year of contract for AC Milan and is being targeted by Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham and also AC Milan’s city rivals Inter.

Amid interest from so many clubs, Paolo Maldini remains optimistics that Kessie will sign a renewal at the club.

“He will be part of the future of Milan, we are working on his renewal,” he said.
