PSG Transfer News: The Parisians are set to offer €75M for Achraf Hakimi, Inter likely to accept

Paris Saint German will make an official bid worth €75M in the coming hours to sign Inter’s wing back Achraf Hakimi. The amount will be enough for Nerazzurri’s to let the Moroccan go. Achraf Hakimi has agreed personal terms with the French club. The player thinks the French capital is his ideal destination for the upcoming season. Contacts between the two clubs have been going on for a long time with PSG to place their first official bid to the Nerazzurri’s this summer.

This is according to Italian broadcaster & Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported moments ago on air that the offer would put the Parisians ahead of their main rivals Chelsea in the pursuit of the Moroccan’s signature.

In the past few weeks Chelsea made an offer of 55M euros + offered players in exchange.

The Blues offered Marcos Alonso & David Zappacosta as a part of the exchange deal. Chelsea offered players to reduce Inter’s asking price. It looked like Chelsea were leading the race to sign the 23-year-old wing back but PSG are now back in business.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via Sports Witness), Chelsea still has an ace up their sleeves in the form of Marcos Alonso, with the Blues latest bid standing at €55m plus Marcos Alonso as a counterpart. But Inter are seemingly prioritizing the influx of cash before the end of the month and will likely pursue Alonso’s signing later on, as per Alfredo Pedulla. Hakimi’s preference towards a move to PSG will also have a part to play.

PSG are battling with Chelsea to secure the services of Achraf Hakimi

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast on 18 June, Fabrizio Romano talked about Achraf Hakimi’s future: “There are a lot of questions between Chelsea and PSG”.

“Two weeks ago, PSG made a bid. It’s the only official bid received by Inter Milan. There’s no bid from Chelsea at the moment”.

“We will see if Chelsea will make an official bid in the coming days. Chelsea have only had contact with the agent of Achraf Hakimi but at the moment there’s still nothing with Inter”.

“Inter are waiting to see Chelsea’s position. PSG made a proposal a few weeks ago of €60m with add-ons included – and Inter said no, they want €80m”.

Due to a financial crisis, Inter are keen on selling the Moroccan Left back this summer transfer window

“PSG are still interested but we’ll have to see if they make another proposal. It’s still quiet because Chelsea and PSG know that Inter need to sell this player and they want to wait until the end of June because Inter need to sell.”

According to Sky Sport Italia correspondent Angelo Mangiante, both clubs are still in the race to sign Achraf Hakimi, but the Ligue 1 giants could soon make a formal offer to secure the player’s services and beat off the Blues’ competition.

Inter bought Hakimi from Real Madrid for 40M euros with a five-year contract. He was loaned to Borussia Dortmund between 2018-20 from Santiago. Hakimi had a sensational season with Inter scoring 7 goals in 37 league appearances. He also helped Inter win the Serie A title after 11 years.

But Inter are willing to make significant financial cuts following the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, which led to Conte leaving his job just last month. Conte left the club because his plans did not match with the club’s intentions. Conte wanted to continue with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, Achraf Hakimi, Lautaro Martinez and more.

Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano has hinted that the former Real Madrid man will be the next big-name to leave Inter this summer, following the recent exit of former manager Antonio Conte.
