Roman Abramovich confident of luring Erling Haaland to Chelsea this summer

Chelsea are reportedly confident of signing Erling Haaland this summer. The Champions League winners are in search of a striker. Timo Werner who came into the Blues squad last season has failed to impress in his debut season at the club. Chelsea’s primary transfer target is a world-class striker-Erling Haaland. Tottenham’s Harry Kane has also been included in their shortlist.

According to ESPN, Chelsea are favourites to land the Norwegian for they believe they have the most attractive Premier League package to offer Erling Haaland. Along with the money, the report adds that Chelsea’s position as a squad brimming with expensive young talent is another selling point, they can offer to lure top talent to Stamford Bridge.
Duncan Castles reported yesterday that Haaland is reportedly expecting to complete a shock move to Chelsea from Dortmund this summer. The 20-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in world football, having scored an incredible 40 goals in 43 games in the Bundesliga over the last 18 months.

How much will it cost Chelsea to buy Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland is Europe’s hottest property right now

Roman Abramovich might be willing to cash in the money, in order to sign the most in-demand striker in world football right now. Many top clubs in Europe are running for the Norwegian’s signature. Erling Haaland has three years left with Borussia Dortmund with his release clause dropping to £75m in the summer of 2022. The asking price of Haaland is £150m if the player wants to leave this summer.

The Daily Express says Chelsea are the favourites to sign Haaland, according to reports, with Abramovich willing to stretch the Stamford Bridge budget to land the Dortmund forward. Haaland is believed to be open to a move to the European Champions. Last week, popular journalist Erkum Konur also suggested Haaland has no problems with the contract on offer.

According to Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window podcast, Erling Haaland remains interested in a move to Chelsea, but external factors could come into consideration. That problem is Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola and his demands for a ‘Get Out’ clause in the Chelsea contract.

Mino Raiola wants his client to get freedom and leave the club if things do not go right at Stamford bridge. Therefore, Raiola wants a ‘GET OUT’ clause in his contract with the Blues which offers the player to leave the club whenever he wishes to. A similar contract Erling Haaland has with Dortmund’s, which lets him leave for a reduced-price next summer. Meanwhile Chelsea do not agree to such terms and will make the contract on their own policies. The Blues though, known for their hard negotiation tactics will surely not include such terms in the contract.

Chelsea might make the transfer possible by selling off Tammy Abraham & Oliver Giroud this summer. Both the players have received offers from several clubs. Abraham has interests from Aston Villa, West Ham and Leicester City. Giroud is wanted by a bunch of clubs but AC Milan is his current preferred destination.

Inter Milan and Fiorentina are preparing bids for Davide Zappacosta. Chelsea have failed to secure the likes of Achraf Hakimi. The Blues offered Inter a swap deal but the offer seems to be rejected as the 22-year-old is on his way to shake hands with the French club. Chelsea are also trying to bring Declan Rice from West Ham but the player has three years left in his contract with the Hammers.
