Shardul Thakur has been added to India’s 15-man World Test Championship 2023 finals roster, which will face Australia. When given the opportunity, the Indian all-rounder has consistently taken wickets with the ball in hand. But he hasn’t been doing much with the ball for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the current IPL 2023.
In response to fans’ questions about his absence from bowling, the 31-year-old all-rounder finally revealed that he had been bothered by a minor injury. He claims to have recovered his bowling form and will bowl for the squad whenever necessary. He continued, saying that even captain Nitish Rana now pitches in to bowl a few overs for the KKR squad, which is packed with all-rounders.
Shardul Thakur provides a healthy update about his bowling
Considering the circumstances in which Team India will be playing and also remembering the performance that Thakur has previously put up in overseas situations, the top Indian all-rounder is expected to appear in the playing eleven. He said that being an all-rounder in contemporary cricket is physically demanding and difficult.
“We have a side full of all-rounders with (Andre) Russell, Sunil (Nairne)… We have got a maximum of eight bowling options that also includes Nitish (Rana) who also bowls an over or two nowadays. I had a small niggle, so I didn’t play a few games, when I came back, I didn’t bowl as I was not bowling fit. But yes, now I’m back to bowling and hopefully, whenever I get the ball, I will get the job done,” Thakur was quoted as saying by MyKhel.
