Virat Kohli comes up with an ‘epic post’ on social media

On May 9, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost a humiliating game at the Wankhede Stadium to the more formidable Mumbai Indians. As a result of the loss, RCB are now in seventh place in the IPL 2023 points table, significantly reducing their prospects of making the playoffs.

Kohli himself was unable to make a significant batting contribution, as he was removed with a score of 1. Fans came out in droves, hoping to see Kohli’s on-field wizardry, but were ultimately let down. The former captain of the RCB turned to Twitter to set the record straight after widespread speculation over his batting average and on-field antics.

Virat Kohli comes up with an ‘epic post’ on social media

Kohli posted a post and included a photo that looked like it was taken during an advertisement session. He wrote: “The competition is all in your head. In reality, it’s always you vs you.”

Since he was a youngster, the RCB mainstay has been the center of attention. Kohli’s ‘no handshake’ encounter with Sourav Ganguly and his furious discussion with Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir made headlines throughout this year’s IPL.

Some cricket observers believe Kohli’s strike rate in Twenty20 internationals is a little low for the current standard of the game. The famous Indian batsman reacted to the same question by saying that an anchor is a crucial position in Twenty20.

In a chat with Robin Uthappa on JioCinema, Kohli had said: “Yeah for sure (important anchor role). I completely agree with that, there are many people who because they have not been in that situation themselves, look at the game differently.”
