Yuzvendra Chahal makes a big statement after his team Rajasthan Royals’ shocking defeat to Sunsrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023

After losing in a nail-biting last-ball thriller against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), spinner Yuzvendra Chahal said that his team needed to move on quickly. On May 7 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Sunrisers, captained by Aiden Markram, won an exciting match by four wickets.

Spinner Chahal said that his team has to put the defeat behind them and focus on the future. He then expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rebound and strengthen their playoffs push.

When things started going badly for the Royals, the attention of the uninitiated was focused on the game’s final ball. With five needed off the last delivery, Sandeep Sharma, a senior bowler, produced a full-length ball that was nearly yorker length, causing Abdul Samad to be holed out to Jos Buttler at long-off.

Surprisingly, the umpire labeled it a no-ball for overstepping the crease. Samad, playing the final ball for the second time, stole the game from the home side in Jaipur by smashing a maximum.

In his four overs against the Sunrisers, Chahal picked up four wickets. This ties the spinner for first place all-time in wickets taken in the IPL with the great Dwayne Bravo of CSK.

With his four-wicket haul, Chahal brought his career total to 183 wickets, tying him with Bravo despite playing in 142 matches. Chahal will be looking to make his mark in history with three more matches to play in the group stage.

“It is part of the game. We will storm back together. The sooner we will forget this match, the better it will be for us. It will take time, but still, three matches are there, and if we win our remaining three games, we are still in the hunt for play-offs,” Chahal told the media in the post-match press conference.
