Denzel Dumfries had been previously linked with Everton but FC Bayern Munich have recently shown interest in the PSV Eindhoven captain. The 25-year-old has caught the eye with his performances for Netherlands during the group stage of Euro 2020, scoring against Ukraine and Austria and winning the penalty which Memphis Depay converted & scored a goal.
Dumfries had an impressive season for PSV scoring four goals and nine assists in just 41 appearances for the club. Dumfries joined PSV Eindhoven in July 2018 for a five-year deal. The asking price of the 25-year-old is 15M euros. His contract expires in 2023. Since joining the club, he has featured in 124 games in which he scored 16 goals and 20 assists in total.

According to Sky Germany, Julian Naglesmann is interested in signing the Dutch right back but the problem arises in his price tag. Bayern Munich do not want to pay a €15M release clause for the defender.
Bayern Munich’s Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is said to have already sought contact with Dumfries advisor Mino Raiola and the record champions interest in the 25-year-old, according to information from Sky Germany.

Julian Naglesmann doesn’t see Benjamin Pavard as his ideal right wing back. The former Leipzig coach thinks that the World cup winner -Pavard will not fit into his squad and is therefore looking for a replacement for him. Dumfries with his speed and dynamism might add more taste to the new coach.
Everton were leading the race to sign the Dutch defender in the summer. But Dumfries’s impressive performances in the Euro 2020 has caught the attention of the Bundesliga winners. Bayern might intervene in Everton’s target and might well seal the deal. Everton in the past offered 13M euros for the right wing back but the bid was rejected by PSV. Everton are currently without a manager after Carlo Ancelotti departed last week to join the Galacticos. But Everton are still working to pick out players that would fit in their squads.
