Pakistan‘s cricket team has built a bad name for the internal conflicts in the team. The fans around the world often hear hidden murmurs from the cricketing alleys of Pakistan about some ongoing conflict in the dressing room. Another veteran player from the side Danish Kaneria has swirled a new controversy. The leg-spinner from Pakistan earned a good name for himself due to some brave performances which earned him a lot of fans from around the World.
However, after making a ton of influential performances in the red-ball cricket and winning a bunch of games single-handedly he was dropped from the side. Danish Kaneria also failed to make a spot for himself in the limited over set-up even after repeated good numbers.
Danish Kaneria accuses of Shahid Afridi of planning against him:
Danish Kaneria has put some serious allegation on Shahid Afridi. Kaneria has blamed the then captain of the side with mistreatment with him. Kaneria has confirmed the statements of Shoaib Akhtar who came forward last year and spoke that Kaneria was mistreated because he was a Hindu. Now almost one year after the initial controversy Kaneria has come forward and has spoken that it was Shahid Afridi who was always against the leg-spinner.
He said “Shahid Afridi had been against me since the beginning. He kept me out of the one-day side. When we used to play together for the same department, he used to keep me on the bench and didn’t let me play the one-day tournament. I only played 16 ODIs in my 10-year career as I used to get only two or three matches every year,”
Kaneria also accepted his mistake in the spot-fixing scandal of 2009. He added “I made a mistake and I pleaded guilty. I have paid for the mistake. My international career got ruined but now, at least for humanity’s sake, I ask to lift up the restrictions on me so that I could take the art of leg-spin forward. I regret it but now I want to do something that people could remember always,”
Kaneria also spoke about the difficulties he is facing to earn a livelihood. He pleaded for help from the Pakistan Cricket Board. He said “I do not have a job. I used to go on news shows earlier, but the big Pakistan news channels have not paid my dues. I can only request them to pay. Now the channels have gone against me. So, now I have started my new YouTube channel. I do not have a team as of now. My elder brother has been taking care of family and finances,”
