IPL 2020: Irfan Pathan gives an apt reply to the trollers to hurled rape threats to Ziva Dhoni
IPL 2020: The Chennai Super Kings are currently in a poor run for form in the IPL 2020. They also lost the last match against the Kolkata Knight Riders by 10 runs. CSK is one of the most consistent sides in the IPL. However, they are now suffering from this poor run of form.
Before the start of the 13th edition of the IPL, Chennai was one of the hot favourites to win the title. However, now qualifying to the playoffs also looks very tough for them, as they have won only 2 of the 6 games they have played. CSK failed to chase down a modest total of 168 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi. They lost wickets at regular intervals in the middle overs and could only manage to score 157 runs.
After the defeat, MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav had to bear a heavy brunt in the social media. Dhoni scored 11 off 12 deliveries and Jadhav scored 7 off 12 balls. However, the trolling has crossed the limits and it has become toxic.
Moreover, Dhoni’s five-year-old daughter Ziva had to also face the brunt of trolls. She received rape threats and physical abuse threats on social media. Dhoni’s Instagram as well as his wife Sakshi’s Instagram was filled with such threats.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan reacted to this worrying incident and highlighted the cheap mentality of such people. He wrote on Twitter that every player tries to give their best on the field, and sometimes it does not work for them. But it doesn’t give anyone the right to give threats to a young child. (IPL 2020)

“All the players giving their best, sometimes it just doesn’t work but it’s doesn’t give anyone any authority to give a threat to a young child #mentality #respect,” tweeted Irfan.
This is not the first incident when a cricketer’s family had to face the trolls for his poor performance. When India captain Virat Kohli was suffering for a poor form, his wife had to face the trolls for his poor run of form.
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni will be looking to make a strong comeback and take his team to the playoffs to prove his doubters wrong. Dhoni has failed to perform with the bat post his return from sabbatical. He has just scored 102 runs in five innings with the best score of 47*. MS Dhoni might not be performing with the bat in hand, but it does not give any right to the trollers to abuse his daughter.
