IPL 2020: The recent incident of MS Dhoni’s five years old daughter getting rape threats shocked the whole cricket fraternity. India is a cricket-obsessed nation. There have been several incidents when a player’s family had to face the heat due to the player’s on-field performance.
MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav faced heavy trolls post Chennai Super Kings’ defeat against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi. Both Dhoni and Kedar played a very slow knock. MS Dhoni scored 11 runs off 12 balls and Kedar Jadhav scored 7 off 12 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders bowling attack.
CSK is going through a very poor patch in the IPL 2020. They have won only two out of the seven games they have played. Moreover, CSK even faltered in a run chase against KKR to make matters worse. Fans trolled the team for their poor performance.

However, the matter went out of control. Abuses and rape threats were directed towards MS Dhoni’s five years old daughter. Many such comments were found in MS Dhoni and Sakshi Dhoni’s Instagram accounts.

Several cricketers with the likes of Irfan Pathan and Pragyan Ojha bashed those people who wrote filthy comments against a player’s family. Even, Police had to patrol near Dhoni’s farmhouse house in civil clothes. (IPL 2020)
Former Pakistan international, Shahid Afridi has also reacted to this disturbing incident. He has come out in support of MS Dhoni. He feels that Dhoni has taken Indian cricket to a new level and he does not deserve such statements.
“I don’t know what sort of threats were directed at MS Dhoni & his family but it’s not right & shouldn’t happen. Dhoni’s the person who has taken Indian cricket to new heights. He’s taken junior & senior players along this journey & doesn’t deserve such treatment,” said Afridi as quoted by PakPassion Editor Saj Sadiq.
Afridi also congratulated MS Dhoni after the latter announced his international retirement. He feels that MS Dhoni is a true legend and also wished him the best for his future.
