Juventus are interested in signing Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli this summer. The asking price of the Italian midfielder is 40M euros. Juventus have been long time admirers of the 23-year-old midfielder. The formal discussion between the two clubs took place on Wednesday. Juventus are planning to bring the midfielder in Turin for a two-year loan deal with an option to buy.

Juventus’ offer to Sassualo

The Italian midfielder has been exceptional in Italy’s Euro 2020 campaign

Reports indicated that Juve will add Radu Dragusin to their bid to land him this summer. The Romanian is highly rated and looks a good option considering that several clubs want to sign him. Dragusin is one of the budding youngsters in the Juventus youth system, but he isnโ€™t the only one that the Bianconeri can offer.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus offered even more players to Sassuolo to choose, when both clubs spoke about Locatelli yesterday. The report says the Bianconeri gave them the choice of also getting Nicolo Fagioli and Felix Correia and they are evaluating moves for them.

Sky Sports Italia says that Sassuolo want 40M euros for Locatelli. However, any deal is also likely to include a player going in the opposite direction.

Manuel Locatelli is currently playing in Euro 2020 for Italy. The 23-year-old started in the first two games for his county. He scored two goals in the 3-0 win against Switzerland. He was rested in Italyโ€™s final group stage game against Wales on Sunday. Italy topped in Group A to progress in the knockout stages of the tournament where they will face Austria on Sunday.

Sassualo’s Manuel Locatelli opens up on his transfer talks

When Locatelli was asked about his move to Turin this summer:

“The transfer rumours are just talks. I will decide after the European Championshipโ€.

โ€œThere’s such an important competition to play in, and I’m only focused on thisโ€.

“I rely on what happens on the pitch, the real things, everything else is just gossip, it’s useless to talk about it.”

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport Sassuolo are keeping their powder dry in response to the offer, hoping that Locatelliโ€™s performances in the international tournament serve to drive the price up and start a bidding war.

โ€œLocatelliโ€™s perfect match against Switzerland illuminated the eyes of half of Europe, while the Bianconeri have long been preparing the ground for the former AC Milan playerโ€.

โ€œSassuolo expect 60M euros for Locatelli who, until last week, was valued at 40M eurosโ€.

โ€œBut will it be so? In the year of Covid, everyone is trying to bring down costs. Therefore, a real tug-of-war is expected, perhaps with many episodesโ€.

โ€œJuve are starting at 25M euros, maybe they can even go up to 30M euros. However, the latest spike in the costs of the operation, mentioned only indirectly, deserves some in-depth analysisโ€.

According to the Pink newspaper, Massimiliano Allegri is dreaming of signing one of two major stars. Reports suggest that Allegri wishes to bring Paul Pogba back at the club or their long-time target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. However, Pogba has been linked with an extraordinary exchange deal that would see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Manchester United. However, such a deal looks unlikely as The Red devils are focused on bringing Jadon Sancho at Old Trafford.
