“The hair changes often”: Paul Pogba’s new black and white hair hints at a possible return to Juventus?

Paul Pogba has laughed off the rumours suggesting that his new black and white striped hairstyle hints at a possible reunion with his previous club Juventus. The Manchester United star has said that currently he is entirely focused on winning the Euro 2020 with France, and will think of his future only after that.

The French midfielder had moved from Juventus to Manchester United back in 2016 at a staggering transfer fee of €70 Million which had broken many records at that time. Unfortunately, Pogba failed to retain the level of performance that he used to show Juventus as he was given a much more defensive role at the Premier League club. Although he has now started to get his flow back with the Reds, Pogba’s move to United is still considered as one of the worst transfers in the history of Old Trafford.

However, the story is completely contradictory at the French National team. Paul Pogba has always been a focal part of the French team and people often say that Pogba at United and Pogba at France, are two completely different players.

The Frenchman gave an extraordinary performance in their last group stage match against Portugal last night. Paul Pogba’s astonishing strike in the 70th minute was brilliantly save by Portuguese keeper Rui Patricio to deny the Frenchman his first goal of Euro 2020 as the match that saw three penalties ended in a 2-2 draw.

It was in last night’s post match conference that Paul Pogba was interrogated about his new hairstyle by some reporters, to which the midfielder gave a fitting reply.

“Is the black and white hair a signal for the future? I was expecting this question (laughs) There is no future now, only the European Championship. The hair changes often,” he said.

On being asked about his reaction to the scoreline of the match,Pogba said: “This is a European Championship, it’s a very hard competition, the goal is to go all the way.

“The group did not scare us. We were prepared, we knew we were facing these teams and we knew it would be difficult. We finished first in the group, which was the goal, now we have the next round and we are confident.”

French forward Karim Benzema scored two goals last night (including a 45th minute penalty), breaking his 7 year long goal drought for the national side. Paul Pogba said that he is glad that Benzema has finally got his form back.

“We are happy to have him in the team because he does exceptional things and scores goals.

“We hope [Kylian] Mbappe and [Antoine] Griezmann do too, we know we have strong attackers who can make a difference. Now we are calm, will rest and think about the next match.”
