PSG Transfer News: The Parisians ask the veteran defender to lower his wage demands

PSG Transfer news: Sergio Ramos has left Real Madrid after 16 years of service. The Spaniard bid an emotional farewell to Madrid on Tuesday after the club announced that he would not be agreeing to fresh terms at the Santiago Bernabeu, bringing an end to his 16-year long journey with the Galacticos.

He helped the Spanish giants to 22 trophies, including five La Liga titles and four Champions League’s & two Copa del Rey’s. Ramos scored 101 goals in just 671 appearances for the club. Ramos arrived in Madrid from Sevilla in 2005 for 27M euros. Sergio Ramos leaves Real Madrid as one of the greatest defenders of the modern era.

PS Transfer News: Sergio Ramos demanding a high 12M annual wage

PSG however will not engage in talks unless the Spaniard drops his 12M euros a year salary demands, they are also unconvinced by his levels of fitness. However, Ramos is demanding a two-year contract on wages worth 200k euros a week. Paris Saint-Germain doesn’t lack the money Ramos is asking for and he would suit perfectly in a defence that has been missing a veteran leader since Thiago Silva left last year.

He could make a great duo with Marquinhos. That would provide more experience to a team that expects to finally claim a highly desired UEFA Champions League trophy after losing in the finals to FC Bayern Munich in 2020. That ends our PSG transfer news segment for today.

Another club who might be interested in bringing the defender back to their soil is Sevilla. Sevilla would do whatever it takes to bring their boy back home but they might not be able to afford the salary Ramos is asking for. But the player clearly stated that he is not staying in Laliga next season. He even stated that he is uncertain about his future but would surely like to go to the club that will play Champions League football next season.

By Charlotte Duncker, Man Utd Correspondent :“Of all the potential destinations for Ramos this summer, Manchester United will likely be near the top of those mentioned most frequently”.
The centre-back has been linked with a move to Old Trafford countless times before, and he very nearly joined the Red Devils when Louis van Gaal was in charge.

However, the deal remains unlikely because United are more interested in signing the 28-year-old- Raphael Varane (another Los Blancos player who might change shirts this summer).
