Sanju Samson has been in excellent form in this year’s IPL. Rajasthan Royals have secured a win in the first two matches in the IPL, and Samson has been the stand out performer in both the matches.
In the first match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Samson smashed a 32 ball 74. His innings included 9 sixes and a boundary. In the second match, he smashed a match-winning 85 runs against the Kings XI Punjab. The innings was vital for Rajasthan Royals to chase down the total of 224 runs in Sharjah. Samson has become a vital player for the Royals, along with the likes of Steve Smith and Jos Buttler.
Sanju Samson kept asking a lot of questions to Virat Kohli.
On Monday, Sanju Samson revealed how Indian captain Virat Kohli’s advice during a gym session has changed his perspective towards cricket. Samson asked Kohli how he maintains his fitness level.
“[I had] one amazing experience when I was in the Indian team. I was in the gym training with Virat Bhai (Kohli). I kept asking him why he puts so much energy into fitness, I kept asking him a lot of different questions,” said Samson in a virtual press conference.
“Sanju how many years will you be playing?` And I said, “I am 25 now so for ten years or so. He told me, “Then give everything to these ten years and you can have your favourite food from Kerala after that, but you will not be able to play cricket after these ten years so why do not you give whatever you have in these ten years?” Kohli told Samson during the interaction.

Kohli’s advice brought about a big change in Samson’s attitude and he started to get success in the cricket field. “That changed the perspective of my dedication to cricket. I was really happy to hear that from him,” Samson said.
Steve Smith-led Rajasthan Royals to two consecutive wins in the first two matches in IPL 2020. They will now face the Kolkata Knight Riders in their third match on September 30 at Dubai International Stadium. They will be looking to build on that winning momentum.
