Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri wanted by two Serie A sides: The Reds reveal their asking price
Xherdan Shaqiri might leave Liverpool and join hands with Napoli or Lazio who are keen to acquire the signature of the Swiss. The 29-year-old is in search of regular game time after a series of injuries at Anfield. He has started in 3 games in the 2019/20 season and is struggling with game time.
After he turned in an impressive performance at Euro 2020 this summer, Liverpool hopes to cash in on Xherdan Shaqiri before the new season begins. The attacking midfielder has seen his price rising with his two goals in the 3-1 final group game win over Turkey in the Euros.

Lazio and Napoli interested in signing Xherdan Shaqiri
According to Goal, the Serie A clubs have been in touch with the 29-year-old’s representatives following his impressive displays at Euro 2020, and both are keen to do a deal before the end of the summer transfer window. However, Spanish clubs like Sevilla & Villareal have also shown interest in the attacking midfielder.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Lazio had contacted the Reds over a possible move for the 29-year-old, of whom they have been long-term admirers.
Spanish clubs like Sevilla and Villareal have asked Liverpool about loan spells but the Reds are looking to sell the player. The player is expected to go to Italy this summer with Lazio and Napoli the forerunners to sign the midfielder.
Liverpool had expected to sell him last summer, but saw interest from Germany and Italy fail to develop into concrete offers. Xherdan Shaqiri has two years left in his contract at the club and the Reds might think that this is the right time to offload the midfielder from their books.

The Reds have already raised more than £30m in sales this summer, offloading Marko Grujic, Harry Wilson, Taiwo Awoniyi, Kamil Grabara and Liam Millar. The Reds have asked £15m for the 29-year-old attacking midfielder. The Reds are expected to invest that amount in a midfielder or a forward if needed.
Liverpool are also keen to tie down a number of star players to new contracts, with goalkeeper Alisson Becker, defender Virgil van Dijk and midfielder Fabinho all in line for fresh deals. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are also into the final two years of their contracts, as is captain Jordan Henderson, with who initial discussions have proven fruitless so far.
Liverpool signed Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City in 2018 for £13m. Since joining Liverpool, he scored 7 goals in 45 appearances for the Premier League club.
