Tusquets predicted that there is a chance of bankruptcy by New Year if the current wage bills are covered. He proposed a wage cut to the players which will be repaid later in the future. The current President seems to repay the temporary salary reduced as the fees after their retirement as the club ambassador. Gerard Pique, Frenchie De Jong, Clement Lenglet, and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen have already agreed to the proposal. Barcelona made sure they include a clause regarding the wage cut in the contract of new signings of Pedri, Miralem Pjanic, and Sergino Dest.

Ndombele may arrive at Camp Nou next season

These wage cuts will lead Barcelona to save 190 million euros in favor of the club and bolster the transfer budget to snap up players out of contract in 2021. Primarily, Koeman aims to land Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia which have an unfinished business with the Catalunya club. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Tanguy Ndombele is one of the targets for Barcelona as a replacement for Arturo Vidal. Barcelona does miss the robust midfielder who provided a defensive superiority in the middle of the park. The Tottenham player did not have a great start to his career at the London outfit.
