The main problem for Barcelona in the current season is the lack of economic stability and so they cannot spend big. Hence, the Blaugrana need to withdraw themselves to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine attacker has been a long-term priority for the Catalan side. Instead, Koeman aims to land Memphis Depay instead of the Nerazzurri striker.

Also, the Dutch boss is missing another piece from his defensive line. Barca contacted Manchester City over former La Masia graduate Eric Garcia. Koeman knows the funds are limited at the club and offered €15 million for the young center-back. But the Premier League outfit is not lowering the asking price of €30 million. Barcelona can wait for another season to sign Garcia for free. Koeman seems adamant to bolster his squad so that Barca can compete in all competitions well.
Dembele will not continue at Barcelona

Previously, Metro reported that Ousmane Dembele will stay for another season to prove his worth to the fans and do justice to the huge fee paid to Borussia Dortmund. Manchester United is monitoring the situation of the winger and approached Barcelona to sign him on loan for this season with an option to buy.
United was planning on bringing in Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window but Dortmund did not lower the fees from €120 million. The Manchester-based outfit seems to have a mid-way through the demands of the manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. Dembele looks like a cheap alternative for Manchester United but Barcelona may root for the transfer fee to be paid now itself with the shortage in transfer budget.
Ronald Koeman expressed himself over the transfer rumour that it depends on the player’s decision to stay at the club. The transfer break shuts on October 5 and United is eager to meet an agreement before the deadline.
