Coronavirus Donations made by Women’s Cricketers

Women’s Cricket has always been neglected by our countrymen. However, recent times have shown that female cricketers are no less than their male counterparts.  The team reached the finals of the One Day World Cup and also played the grand finale of the T20 World Cup. The girls have started to gain much-deserved respect and players such as Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are becoming household names. The girls have also extended their support to the nation in battling the pandemic by making donations for Coronavirus.

How Much have the female cricketers donated?  

Indian women have always battled all the hardships along with their male counterparts. Even the wars have seen Indian women soldiers matching shoulders with on every corner of the fight. The women did not hesitate even for a single moment when it came to donating for battling the novel coronavirus. The female cricketers who earn a fraction of money when compared to the men’s cricketers have donated as per their limitation.

The Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma donated 50,000 Indian Rupees to battle with the deadly virus. 16-year old Richa Ghosh also displayed the human side of her and donated 1 lakh INR. The 16-year old proved that age is just a number and all it takes is a large heart to serve one’s fan.

The lady Sachin Tendulkar, Mithali Raj also set an example by donating a large sum of 10 Lakh, highest amongst the women cricketers. The mystery spinner from Haryana, Poonam Yadav who recently grabbed the limelight for her performances in World Cup also donated a sum of 2 Lakhs. Other donations were made by domestic star Priyanka Roy, who donated 10 Lakhs to the Bengal government.
