How Barcelona wanted to stop the vote of no confidence

Coutinho enjoyed a pleasant season on a loan at Bayern Munich as he helped the Bavarians snap up the treble and is breaking into the first-team with Koeman providing ample opportunities. The new Barcelona number 7 Antoine Griezmann is trying to fit into the squad fighting for his position with new youngsters Francisco Trincao and Pedri.

A no-confidence motion against Bartomeu was passed into the second phase with the required number of signature. However, the two club executives who are a part of this movement, Marta Plana and Jordi Argemi, demanded the process to be stopped with immediate effect. They cited that there was a complaint filed to the civil guard over the falsification of the signatures during the first phase of the motion.

Barcelona board representatives hindering the proceedings

Sport reports that 16520 signatures were required to proceed to the second phase of the movement but Planes and Argemi notified the previous 2010 fraud over signatures. On the other hand, Jordi Farre who supports the motion calls out the board for trying to stop the no-confidence against Josep Maria Bartomeu and his board.

Bartomeu was supposed to give up during the Messi transfer saga but he instead held on to his position so that he can improve the club. There is no way out for the President to evade the allegations made against him with the social media controversy which tarnished his image in front of the fans as well as the dressing room. Farre said they will counter the mechanisms of the board and proceed with the no-confidence motion. It looks like Bartomeu’s second term is coming to an abrupt and unexpected end.
