Barcelona 2020: Barcelona needs to act quickly to do some business in the current transfer window. The board did make it clear that the majority of the squad is available for transfer. However, no such significant sales have been made. Arthur Melo left the club on a pre-contract as a part of Miralem Pjanic deal. Veteran midfielder Ivan Rakitic joined former club Sevilla from Barca. These transfers helped in enforcing the budget as it freed up the high wages.

Barca gaffer Ronald Koeman sorted his squad out to decide whom he deems as surplus. Some players are available for loan spells in this summer. Also, players like Arturo Vidal, Luis Suarez and Nelson Semedo are no longer wanted at Camp Nou.

Eric Garcia move stalled indefinitely
With Juventus move in question, Suarez hopes to sign for La Liga rivals Atletco Madrid. The club is yet to part ways with the Uruguayan International. Barca may go ahead and terminate his contract but also want to gain some funds with the sale. Lack of funds is the reason why Eric Garcia’s signing is stalled. As per Goal, The former La Masia graduate is one of top priorities Barcelona have in this transfer window.
The deal is necessary with few options at the backline. Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet are the only defenders who make it to the first-team. Samuel Umtiti is injury prone and inconsistent. Koeman will look to strengthen the defense before their first match. Manchester City put a €30 million price tag on Eric Garcia.
Nelson Semedo’s transfer is not going through this soon. Premier League side Wolverhampton Wolves is chasing down the Portuguese right-back.
