IPL 2020: Hardik Pandya Reveals What Spurred Him For His Thunderous Knock Against KXIP
IPL 2020: The defending champions Mumbai Indians registered a resounding victory against the Kings XI Punjab in the latest clash. They won the match by 48 runs. Mumbai was not up for some big runs, until the last over when everything changed.
Both Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya took the attack to the KXIP bowlers. Hardik scored 30 runs off 11 balls and Pollard was unbeaten on 47 off 20 balls. In the last over, KXIP gave away 25 runs.
Hardik Pandya said that facing the off-spinner in the last over looked mouth-watering for him. The duo of Hardik and Pollard scored 67 runs off 23 balls. Courtesy of such big hits, Mumbai posted a big total of 191/4. Rohit Sharma’s 70 off 48 balls set up the much-needed platform for the Mumbai Indians.

“It was very intense, it was more like mouth-watering that off-spinner bowling the 20th over. Me and Pollard, whoever misses has to stand at the non-striker’s end and just watch, and that was me today. I missed two balls, but Pollard made up most of it,” said Hardik when his elder brother Krunal interviewed him for MI’s YouTube channel. (IPL 2020)

Hardik also said that he enjoys batting with Kieron Pollard. On many instances, the duo has done the job for the Mumbai Indians. Pandya stated that he could not believe that they could reach 191 but were lucky to achieve it at the end.
“The number of times Pollard and I have done this is fantastic, and I’ve always enjoyed it. When we went, it was a clear message for me that I should go hard and look to get some big runs at the end and get to a total that KXIP finds difficult. “We didn’t aim for 191, but we were lucky enough that the big man (Pollard) had done it again,” added Hardik.
Mumbai Indians bowled well to restrict the Kings XI Punjab and at the end, Rohit Sharma’s side comfortably won the match.(IPL 2020)
